CALICAP 7 - The cover for the Volkswagen T7 California. Throughout the year, and especially from October to May, it can get quite cold in the upper sleeping area of ​​the California. Cold air from the outside penetrates the fabric of the tent bellows quite quickly, and the cozy warmth from the auxiliary heater unfortunately escapes easily.

External insulation offers an ingenious and effective solution.

The advantage: The roof and the tent bellows remain completely dry. The risk of packing away a soaking wet tent bellows, or even worse, the risk of being unable to close the roof at all or only with great difficulty due to snow or frost, is eliminated by external insulation like that provided by a Calicap. Furthermore, it offers blackout capabilities, easy installation, and additional protection from external elements (noise, leaves, dust, etc.).

The T7 Californias are delivered with a pop-up roof. The difference lies in whether it's operated manually or electro-hydraulically. You can select the correct roof operation below.

Please note: Our Calicap 7 only fits original Volkswagen T7 California Coast, Ocean, and Beach conversions. Unfortunately, the Calicap 7 does not fit aftermarket pop-up roofs from Reimo, SCA, or other manufacturers. Its design also differs significantly from the previous models T6.1, T6, and T5.

You don't have to forgo an original Calicap 7 even if you use a solar panel or roof rack. We offer versions with a roof cutout for these applications.

Our California roof cover, also known as the "cap," is not only the ideal solution for autumn or winter camping in your California, but also protects against high interior temperatures and rain in the summer. The standard storage bag with Velcro closure, in the colors of your Calicap, is precisely shaped to fit between the seats in the tailgate.

Our outdoor fabric is characterized by its absolute waterproofness, robustness, and durability – while also being breathable – so you won't have any problems with moisture buildup under the cover.

Thanks to the cover and its insulating effect, you have optimal protection in bad and cold weather. No water penetrates the Calicap. The standard cotton tent bellows, which is permanently attached to the vehicle, remain dry.

Our 100% polyester fabric is a single-layer coated, all-season textile solution. Ideal for applications where lightweight design, flexibility, ease of use, and aesthetics are essential.

The scope of delivery for a Calicap includes:

1 Calicap with pre-attached elastic cords for mirror mounting, plus 8 or 10 ISA Link elastic cord eyelets (for the roll-up version)
8 or 10 stainless steel awning rails with plastic washers and genuine Volkswagen knurled nuts (plus 2 for the roll-up version)
1 storage bag (approx. 50 x 36 x 7 cm) with Velcro closure in the colors of your Calicap.

If you have chosen the open-top version for roof racks and/or solar panels, 2 additional roof awning rails are included.

If you have selected windows, these feature an extra-large downward-facing opening, allowing you to see out of the vehicle from the roof bed.

A transport bag with Velcro closure, made of the same material, is also included.

Our Calicap is only compatible with original Volkswagen T5/T6 California Comfortline, Trendline, Coast, Ocean, and Beach conversions. Specifically, it is compatible with the T5 California, T6 California, T6.1 California, and T7 California. It is not compatible with aftermarket pop-up roofs from Reimo, SCA, or other manufacturers.
